Children, heaven in mind

My children always make me laugh. When I am under pressure dealing with a series of adult issues, their perspective of life help me to get through all those problems much easier. It is simple but surreal, and their creativity flourish in such a unique way.

As a Christian and a educator, I particularly like one verse in the bible, Matthew chapter 19. Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Since I'm experiencing the sweetness of heaven every day through my children, this bible verse is one of the primary key to understand a perspective of children. As a mother of two children, I'm learning new things from them, and they are my teachers, teaching how to love and care others.

I believe that, with a right tool, children are able to show pieces of the "heaven" belonging to them by expressing their thoughts and mind toward the world.

The Tools "Camera and technology"

Children love to use various types of tool to express their mind. It can be a paint blush or a hand to color the rainbow after rain, and it can be blocks or paper cups to make a castle they protect from dragons.

What would happen if they start to use camera as a tool showing their world?
I have noticed many times that my children have asked to take pictures of their works or plays.  They  even love to take pictures by themselves, and want to see what their pieces of various works look like through a camera lens.

While I'm in one of the 3rd grade class for the observation, I see children using I-pad camera to record their works, not just in an art class, but mathematics and science classes. In 21st education, a variety resources of technologies inspire students and teachers with creativity, learning beyond the text. Most of all, the digital camera is not just an option but an essential tool for them to express what they see and learn, showing their own progress of learning. It also allow them to communicate through online environment, not just in the class but globally. Integrating this new technology will require time to adapt successfully in the class or at home with customized and experimental plans. However, with a proper support and efforts, children will have a powerful and effective tool that can be used through their life.

Basic Exposure Lessons in photography
; 1-2-3 steps for dealing with light

The word "photography" is created from Greek root,  φῶςγραφή. "Photo" means light, and "graphy" means drawing, together meaning "drawing with light".

In the first photography class in Gordon college,  the professor introduced the meaning of photography, and I thought whoever the person created the word, it is just a perfect or ideal terminology to explain the act of taking pictures. It all depends on how to deal with light.
